Coaches Comments:

The drills this week included Around the World, Footy Race Track, Footy Harvest and Tags and Tails. We finished off with a 10 minute Grid Game. The kids are enjoying using all the new skills they have acquired. In Around the World the kids weaved in and out of the sticks, hand balled through a loop into a bucket, hopped on one leg to improve their balance and paddled the ball in and out of the cones. In Footy Race Track the kids ran at the ball while the parent helper threw the ball to them. They marked the ball on their chest and kicked or handballed it back to the parent helper and then raced back to their cone. Footy Harvest is a great contest to see how many balls you can take from the harvest. The team with the most balls wins. This was a lot of fun for the kids. In Tags and Tails the kids dodged and weaved so that the opposition team couldn’t take their tails. They then got their turn against the opposition team. The kids love the 10 minute Grid Game at the end as it gives the kids a chance to use their skills. Most importantly all the kids get a chance to kick a goal and touch the ball. This week we saw the kids share the ball around well by handballing and kicking the ball. There has been a huge improvement from round 1 to now.
