Y1 Cheetahs vs Y1 Bobcats

Coaches Comments:

After a week of bitterly cold mornings, the forecast for our first game back after the school holidays was a milder but wet one. We arrived 2 men down, with Lachy W and Travis away making the most of the break from School. This worked out well, as our opponents were in a similar position, a game of 9v9 started on ground 1 with Cheetahs kicking towards the Eastern end. With fewer players on the ground, the boys made the most of the additional space and time they had on the ball, putting together some very impressive passages of play from the centre bounces, resulting in goals to Finn and Declan. Zac was busy collecting possessions and Mitchell too impressive, demonstrating the strong focus which had become such a bit part of his game in the weeks leading up to the break. The boys broke for half time having made the most of the morning so far, and continued the attacking intent in the second half with Mason adding to the tally just before 3 qtr time. At this point the rain which had began to threaten finally broke, giving the boys another Auskick soaking - something which has happened a few times this winter. The boys in the defensive line had to keep moving with little action in their 3rd, running races broke out as the boys tried their best to keep warm! Overall a great morning, great to be back, we have the bye next week, have a good break!

Best Players:

Declan was impressive with his team play today, having the benefit of 2 quarters in the attacking zone, he spread the ball around and took the option to pass to a team mate on a few occasions rather than taking a kick at goal himself, great team effort. Zac too continued to show his skills, tenacious around the ground, he always seems to be first to the loose ball. Well done boys.
