Coaches Comments:

The Cheetahs finally got to face off against the Lynx after a postponement in Round 4 due to the bad weather. This week, spring showed it's face in stark contrast to the stormy weather back in May - mild, dry conditions - it was even hot when the sun got to work. Jay took the umpiring duties today, and continued the trend we have seen this year of some very strong showings from the guys taking the whistle. It was great to see him talking to boys to explain all his decisions - well done Jay. Perfect conditions for Footy - and the boys hit the ground running early in the first quarter. We had Declan and Zac combining in the attacking third to great effect - Zac selflessly playing in Declan who was free in the goal square for the Cheetahs to open the scoring for the game. Josh took a wonderful contested mark in the midfield, rising with 2 Lynx players to take the ball cleanly. Mitchell showed great game awareness, watching the ball keenly and dropping into space when the ball was moving, to give his team mates options. The standard was set high in the first term, and the boys did well to maintain their effort for the remainder of the game. Oscar go in on the marking action, Jason worked tirelessly to shake his man - with the Lynx players making an effort to play man on man. Travis was playing his first game for a month or so after missing the last game, and showed great effort, Lachlan W exchanged some good hand passes with Travis in the 3rd term, demonstrating some great team awareness together. Overall this was a great showing from the Cheetahs - the hardest job was in picking out players for the awards, we could have handed 11 out today! Special mention to the Lynx players who put their hand up to play a quarter with the Cheetahs to even out the numbers, great effort boys thank you.

Best Players:

Awards today were handed out to Declan, Mitchell, Josh and Travis. The hardest task was keeping this to 4 players, but I would run out of certificates otherwise!
