Coaches Comments:
A wonderful day for footy today; the rain stayed away and the Jaguars were here to play. All the kids trained well and listen to instructions as we introduced some new training drills that focused on sharing the ball around with team mates. The skill level from all of the Jaguars is really improving and is showing in the games with the boys prepared to try and kick the ball to their team mates in space, rather than running the ball to the line and handing it to the other players which is no fun nor developing the kids skills. The play of the day would have to go to Jake T and Cael. With Jake taking a very strong over head mark in defence Cael bolted off into space and Jake (who has been practising his long kicking and to a target) hit Cael lace out on the chest and Cael successfully completed the mark to then go back and deliver to the forward line. Well done boys - it was very pleasing to see you are both listening and enjoying your footy while also helping your team mates enjoy their footy by sharing the ball around.
Best Players:
Ben C has been away for a few weeks and slotted straight back into the swing of things. Ben listens and trains well working on his skills and running towards the ball; this carried on into the game and his attack on the ball was second to none - well done Ben. Raiden took what we worked on in training of handballing the ball off when picking it up off the ground then running to space to get it back, into the game and completed it in text book fashion. Well done Raiden pleasure to coach keep it up. Kobi worked really hard throughout the game and ran towards the ball and took heaps of marks and good attack on the ball - buddy well done! Cael as I mentioned in my comments ran hard into space and demanded the footy. He also shared the ball around with his team mates and displayed good footy skills in general - well done Cael - you are improving every week.
