Coaches Comments:

The season got off to a flying start for Round#1 with perfect weather and a near full team of enthusiastic, energised boys ready to chase down the footy! After only 40 minutes of “pre-season” training, skills and a few fun games, the boys jumped straight in to position and commenced a great show of excitement, determination and ball skills. The game kicked off with a centreline who looked as if they had been playing together for years. Kai, Xavier, Jacob and Eli hand-balled to each other and attacked the ball with surprising poise. Clancy, Zachary, Reuben and a Leopards fill in (for Charlie) wore their excitement proudly as they kicked off our season in the forward line. Clancy was able to turn the ball over several times with some excellent marking and intercepts and great support from Reuben and Zachary. With their workload cut out in the first quarter, Ben, Jackson, Hugo and Cyrus had plenty of action and did a great job holding back the Leopards. It was great to see the boys congratulating each other, communicating and embracing the camaraderie of footy!! Love it. Well done guys. Well done parents. Look forward to continuing this great start in to Round#2 against the Lions.

Best Players:

For the first game of the season, all the boys did a great job. Best on ground for Round 1 were Jacob, Clancy and Kai. All 3 boys got plenty of the ball, were instrumental in turning the ball over and showed great ball skills including marking and hand balling. Great effort guys!
