Coaches Comments:
For the first time in a few weeks it was a nice sunny morning and the Panthers started off well with our best training session of the season, so once the game got started we were ready to play. Dane Roberts and Xavier Zuchetti were played some excellent footy and our team work was back to its best today, especially in the forward line with plenty of passing to open team mates. Our effort to look for space and to lead up at the player with the ball is improving which is making it easier for the player with the ball to hit targets with accurate kicks. Overall it was another solid performance from the Panthers. Also, thank you to the families of Hamish Mackay and Ben O'Shea for helping out with the canteen roster this week. Auskick couldn't run smoothly each Saturday without people giving their time to help our club.
Best Players:
Two best player awards this week with a couple of boys playing great games. BEST PLAYER Ben Cherian has been building up to a big game and today he delivered. Ben is always focused on improving during training and his reward today was an excellent game with his best kicking of the season. Some precision passes in the backline got us out of trouble plenty of times and then he capped it off with a great last quarter and a goal. BEST PLAYER Flynn Marcon has been working hard on his kicking technique which is starting to see some great results. A concentrated effort during training resulted in some nice passing during the game. As usual, Flynn was prepared to go hard after the ball and create opportunities for his team mates all day. OTHER AWARDS Ben O'Shea had plenty of run and created plenty of scoring chances for his team mates. As usual his long kicking was on display. Conn O'Rourke took a nasty knock to the face but showed plenty of courage returned to the ground quickly and contribute to the teams efforts. Brandon Pawle was leading nicely into space all day and took numerous marks at both end of the ground. A huge goal from Brandon the highlight of the day. Jace von Bergheim took some nice marks out in his hands and continued play team first footy.
