Coaches Comments:

Last game of Auskick, and what a game it was. Both teams showed great skill, handballing, kicking to their teammates and leading. These boys are ready for modified rules next year. We started our training with leading drills, making sure we were kicking the ball to the player on the lead, then following the ball. The boys have got better and better at this drill over the last month or so and they really did it well for the last week. We followed with some marking, both chest marks and strong over head marks. The boys showed just how skilled they were with not many balls dropped. We finished our training with some fast handballing, moving towards our team mate, getting the handball off and then following the ball. The games have changed so much over this season, from stop/start games at the beginning of the season that were very slow, to free following games at the end of the season. Today's game was one of the best that I have seen in Auskick; the ball moved freely as the boys didn't all gather around the ball on the ground - instead they called to their team mates and lead well to receive the kick. It was an all round team effort today. The boys have improved so much over this year - they have all worked very hard to improve their skills, practicing hard during training and doing extra practice at home with Mum and Dad. It has been a pleasure to coach all the boys this season and now we look forward to next season.

Best Players:

Ethan - did a great job today finding space. Jack - was hard at the ball, never giving up or letting the opposition get the ball easily. Elliot - called very loudly for the ball today and showed his team mates some great leads. Lawson - moved well into space to give his team mates a great option.
