President's Message 2020
Welcome back to WJFC for Season 2020. Whether you are new to the Wildcats in 2020 or a returning member we hope you have a great year.
2019 was another successful year for the Wildcats as our positive club culture and family focus has seen the club grow yet again!
Girls footy continues to grow and in 2020 the intent is for it to evolve so that the girls play in closer age groupings of: Year 3/4, Year 5/6, Year 7/8, Year 9/10 and Year 11/12. If you’re looking to play footy or you know someone that is then you can contact the club via email, website or Facebook page. Congratulations to our 2019 Year 9/11 Girls team who won the clubs inaugural girl’s footy premiership!
We look forward to welcoming back our Auskickers from Pre-Primary to Year 2 on Saturday’s for a morning of fun. We welcome all boys and girls in an inclusive, healthy and safe environment.
This season sees an exciting development with Year 7’s now playing Cross Conference games with teams from West Perth, Subiaco and Claremont Districts. I’m sure this welcome change will add a new dynamic to the Year 7 competition.
Also this season Year 8’s will be travelling to Melbourne to play footy at a local club and watch AFL at the home of footy the MCG. I’m sure the players will cherish this amazing opportunity for many years to come. This trip will be a permanent fixture to the club event calendar to be enjoyed by all future Year 8’s at Whitford Junior Football Club.
Our collaboration with the Amateur’s, The Whitford Warriors has seen us appoint former WJFC player and current Warriors player Zak Mola as Head Coach of the U18’s. Zak is a welcome addition to our coaching ranks.
Last but not least I would like to thank all club volunteers whose efforts are going to ensure we all have a fantastic Season in 2020.
